Fabco Building Components…

Our company has been profitable and always has been competitive in our market. We are aware that markets change, for good or bad, and we wanted to prepare ourselves for the future market changes. Knowing this, we realized that our bidding and costing relied too much on averages and end-of-month results. We wanted to know what each and every order actually should and did cost to manufacture. To do this right, we needed to track our true labor costs and labor efficiencies. This has always been a daunting task for the truss industry.

Todd provided his time standards (truss labor estimations) with his consulting services. He also provided his labor-tracking software. This was the one–two punch we needed to tackle this daunting task. The time standards gave us accurate benchmarks to estimate and judge our productivity. The software tracked the results with very little effort.

We now have every order tracked in detail, down to each employee’s contribution. Every order can be viewed for labor efficiencies and actual labor costs. Now we know how much any type of order should and did cost us for time and labor.

40 Different Combination Options for Payouts!

  • Min/Max Efficiencies (used to set the baseline and excludes abnormal ranges)
  • Employee’s Share as Percentage
  • Yes/No - Include Indirect Hours
  • Yes/No – Negative Orders Efficiencies
  • Based On Efficiencies Options - Man-Hrs or Labor Cost
  • Combine Group or Individual Efficiencies
  • Payout Options Such as Straight Hourly Rate/Employee Pay Rate/Savings Sharing
  • And Much More…

Administration Application

Simple, Flexible and Quick Order Processing

You can easily import an order’s truss information from your engineering software. All the necessary information about each truss and the entire order can be imported using simple import features. (Information example: Truss labels, quantity, estimated labor cost, and man-hours extra…)

Workstation Application

Simple, Flexible and Quick Order Processing

Shop employees can use a touch screen or mouse with a keyboard or even a barcode reader.

Processing the orders is simply a matter of…

  1. Attendance - All Employees log into attendance for start of shift
  2. Each Employee logs into cells - Easily change location of any employee
  3. Log order into cell - Any order/truss/activity is easily changed
Breaks times are automatically log off/on employees from adding man-minutes to work orders.

Any employee can shift to any location, during the shift, without management’s inputting information.  His location is always monitored and recorded, but each employee logs himself into the area which he is assigned.
Active live windows show work orders being processed and any employees not logged into cells

.

All Labor of the Shop Employees are Included

From the lumber picker to the truss stacker, each and every employee’s labor is included with the orders being processed. The labor of the support personnel is split among the orders being processed by the teams of employees they are supporting.

Example…

Truss stacker is stacking trusses for tables 1,2 and 3 so his labor is divided among the orders being processed on tables 1,2 and 3.

Printed using thermal printer to durable vinyl material that stands up to the weather

User-defined optional information…

  • Company Name
  • Company Logo
  • Job Name
  • Truss Label

  • Each tag must be swiped for recording (users cannot fool the unique barcode of each truss)
  • It is quick and easy
  • The program tells the user which trusses are missing for the completed order

Many Types of Reports...

  • Individual Order and Date Range Totals for all Reports
  • Employee Attendance (See below for details)

Actual Labor Cost & Man-Hrs per compared to common benchmarks...

  • Board Footage
    • Linear Footage
      • Number Setups

Structural Truss Systems Ltd...

We looked at a number of software solutions before we chose Todd’s Labor Tracker software.  We needed something that would track employee time for payroll and record time on task for costing and analysis.  Todd’s software was the most appropriate and cost effective solution available.

It not only captures all the data we need from the plant floor, it’s highly visual interface makes it very easy for all staff to use.  It interfaces well with the rest of our production software allowing for easy and accurate expected VS actual comparisons.
