We looked at a number of software solutions before we chose Todd’s Labor Tracker software.  We needed something that would track employee time for payroll and record time on task for costing and analysis.  Todd’s software was the most appropriate and cost effective solution available.

We now have been using Todd’s Labor Tracker program since 2007.  Currently we use it for job costing and employee time tracking for payroll.  It performs quite well in both rolls.  Job costing used to take us approximately six to eight man days each month.  Using Todd’s Labor Tracker, we can now cost an entire months production in less than one day.  The data is much more reliable than what was collected using our manual method.  There are a number of unexpected benefits to the program as well.  The production manager appreciates being able to see exactly who is doing what from his desktop.  We are finding the Workstation “Pause” function in the program useful for creating permanent equipment maintenance records.

It not only captures all the data we need from the plant floor, it’s highly visual interface makes it very easy for all staff to use.  It interfaces well with the rest of our production software allowing for easy and accurate expected versus actual comparisons.

We look forward to working with Todd as he continues to develop more applications for the program.

We needed a way to track all of our actual costs throughout our manufacturing process.  It has been easy for us to track material costs, but tracking labor costs seemed too daunting.  That is why we tried and purchased Todd’s labor tracking software in 2008.

Each software program is more deft at performing some tasks than other programs, so we use Todd’s labor tracking specifically for all our employee time card tracking, as it provides employees with a tally record for payroll.  This is an additional benefit to the labor cost tracking with each of the orders.  The software uses the actual employee’s wages plus a burden rate to calculate the total labor cost for every order.

Periodically, we confirm our cost on individual orders and groups of orders according to their completion dates.  All the reports display the shop’s labor efficiencies in terms of anticipated man-hours versus actual man-hours.  In addition, the reports display the estimated labor cost alongside actual cost efficiencies.  Using these reports allows us to confirm our bidding methods and to attain a better view of our net profit for any given time period.

We have never had significant problems using or maintaining the software.  The software is very easy to use for importing the trusses, tracking the employees and, of course, tracking the orders in the shop.  One of the features we like best about the program is that we do not need to schedule orders in their actual sequence of completion for the different areas in the shop.  The employees will simply select whichever order they are working on and the software does the rest.

We recommend Todd’s labor tracking software for anyone who wants to know the real cost of their manufacturing.  We especially recommend it if you are in a highly competitive area for pricing.

We have been using Todd’s labor tracking software since June of 2007.  We find it to be highly effective at accurately confirming our cost on both individual orders and groups of orders according to dates.  In these tighter times, all companies must control and know their actual expenses.  Material cost has always been easy to track, but labor cost tracking has traditionally been difficult and/or nonexistent in our industry because of the complexity of tracking multiple orders being processed at any given time.  However, here at Fabco, we know our true labor cost by using Todd’s labor tracking program.

The labor tracking software has been very easy to use and maintain.  We have had very few issues with it.  We import our engineered trusses into the software, change the status to “Work-In-Progress” and then the people in the shop simply choose from a drop down list.  There is no need to schedule the orders in the labor tracking program, so any order can be completed for any task at any given moment, which provides excellent flexibility.  Once the order is completed, we simply change the status to “Completed” and generate our reports.  It really is that easy.

We at Fabco can say without any hesitation that Todd’s labor tracking software has helped us and it will help you, too.  We strongly recommend that you try it.
